MCGUCKIN Ian
RAN Born 1951
Educated at St Joseph’s College, Gregory Terrace, Brisbane. Joined RAN as a Supplementary List Midshipman in 1969 as a Seaman Officer, transferring to the General List in 1977. Awarded Bridge Watching Certificate 1973 and subsequently qualified as a Hydrographic Surveyor. Posted to Navy Security Directorate Canberra in 1979 and sub-specialised in Navy Security. Promoted to Commander in March 1989 and posted as Deputy Director Navy Security 1989-1991. On separation transferred to the RANR and commenced civilian employment in the WA Office of Defence Security Authority at Leeuwin Barracks, serving as State Manager 1995-2009. CFTS 2009-2011 as State Manager Defence Reserve Support and retired on completion.
