Service No: 290726.  1939 Royal Australian Air Force. 3 Squadron 1941 Middle East. Shot down Western Desert 11 January 1942 – Prisoner of War. Taken to Italy, successfully escaping from Germans 1943 on Austrian Border. A period with the French Forces interior (Marquis) and getting back to UK. Member of Committee for Rehabilitation of RAAF PoWs as Released from Camps in Europe. Controlling above at Brighton UK. Joined Highgate Sub-Branch May 1989. Contributor to book Silk and Barbed Wire: Third Time Lucky.
